I know, I know – this photo seems a bit of a strange choice for this month’s ‘Room Envy’ post, as you can’t actually see that much of the space in question. But the beautiful combination of soft, spring-like colours is the perfect antidote to a drizzly winter’s day, and I couldn’t resist sharing it.
The room was styled to show off some of the furniture and accessories available from Danish company &tradition, which sells a range of designs from the 1930s to the present day (including some by the likes of Arne Jacobsen and Verner Panton). I love the selection of sleek, understated pieces on display here: the ‘Marble’ table lamp, the ‘Moor’ rug (designed to resemble the shape of jewels) and Jaime Hayon’s multi-tiered, multi-coloured ‘Palette’ table. My favourite is Luca Nichetto’s ‘Cloud’ sofa, which mixes sleek Scandinavian lines with wonderfully plump-looking cushions – I’d love to sink into it with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day!
As for the colour scheme, the dusty pink hue on the far wall has echoes of one of the Pantone colours of the year, rose quartz, which is popping up in interiors and fashion collections everywhere at the moment. It’s offset by sage green and swathes of pristine white woodwork, and the overall effect is both restful and uplifting. Who knows? It could even tempt me away from my beloved grey…
