Before I head off for a much-needed weekend away from the computer screen, I wanted to share an image that’s inspired me this week.
This little vignette instantly caught my eye when I stumbled across it on the Rockett St George website – partly because I love the Visuelle v/Ragnhild Furulund prints it shows (in fact, I’ve just ordered both of them!), but also because the styling is my ideal blend of rustic and contemporary. I love the monochrome colour scheme, the contrast provided by the warm wood of the bedside table, and the natural greenery spilling out of the vase. The prints and funky clip-on light add a modern edge to balance out the more homespun elements, and there’s a touch of Scandinavian simplicity, too.
This is exactly the kind of look I want to achieve in our third bedroom, which has been used as a general dumping ground for packing boxes and the like ever since we moved into our house last October. We’ve finally got around to putting clutter up in the loft so that we can start thinking about furniture and accessories, so finding this photo was perfect timing.
Happy weekend everyone!
