About me

My story

I’m passionate about simple, relaxed living – about creating space for the things that really matter to us and savouring the little moments that enrich our daily lives.

I live in Bradford on Avon, just outside Bath on the edge of the Cotswolds (UK), and I set up my blog in 2014 while working as deputy editor of a travel website. What started as a personal project soon became something more, and in 2017 I left my job to focus on it full-time. It’s where my various interests come together, so you’ll find interior design and seasonal styling inspiration, travel tips, reviews, interviews with artists and makers, and postcards from the beautiful corner of the world that I’m lucky enough to call home. It’s also where I share tales from the 19th-century stone cottage that my husband Chris and I are slowly renovating after relocating from Bristol in November 2025.

Alongside blogging, I’m a freelance stylist, photographer, writer and content creator, working primarily with brands and small businesses in the interiors, travel and lifestyle sectors. I’ve also written two booksThe Soft Minimalist Home: Calm, Cozy Décor for Real Lives and Spaces and Bring The Outside In: Biophilic Design for a Naturally Beautiful Home, both of which pair practical advice with peeks inside gorgeous real-life spaces.

My ethos

Underpinning everything I do is an approach called soulful minimalism, which fuses calming simplicity with warmth and meaning. When it comes to interiors, it’s about crafting spaces that are pared-back yet layered with texture, patina and character. On a wider level, it means living with intention and prioritising the experiences, belongings and activities that truly bring us joy.

I’m also a firm believer that good design is as much about mood and functionality as aesthetics, and that our homes should support our wellbeing and reflect our stories above all else. I always choose timeless, considered style over fleeting trends, and I’m drawn towards spaces that honour their architectural, historical and geographical contexts to create a clear sense of place. What’s more, I’m endlessly inspired by nature and the changing seasons, with their ever-shifting colours, forms and light weaving their way into my work and home.

My background

I’ve always had an interest in interior design, and my parents often used to return from work when I was a teenager to discover I’d rearranged all the furniture (and, on one occasion, ripped up a carpet!). I’ve also held a love of storytelling since early childhood, whether that be through words, pictures, styling or décor.

Travel has formed another important thread throughout my life. I enjoy exploring all sorts of destinations, but I have a particular fondness for the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Portugal and Italy, where I’ve spent a lot of time over the years. Other favourites include Canada, where I have strong family ties, and my own region of the West Country and Cotswolds.

I studied Modern Languages at university and spent time living in Paris and Barcelona in my early 20s. I then embarked on a career that spanned the PR, media and travel industries, allowing me to hone my writing, photography and social-media skills. My enthusiasm for interior design never diminished, though, and I feel incredibly grateful that I now get to combine all my passions through my blog, my books and my client work.
