I have another inspiring autumn-winter 2019 collection to share with you today – this time from Danish brand Tine K Home, whose designs are always created with calm, slow living in mind. It encompasses the same warm, earthy shades as Zara Home’s new-season range, which I featured last week, but the take here is a little more sumptuous and sophisticated.
The collection was styled and photographed at Copenhagen’s Kinfolk Gallery (which I visited for 3 Days of Design back in May), and I was instantly struck by the way the sharp architectural lines contrast with the soft textures and rounded shapes of the furniture and accessories. What’s more, the patina’d beige walls make the perfect backdrop for the rich colours of the textiles, which have evocative names such as ‘Amber’, ‘Ocean’, ‘Walnut’ and ‘Terra’ and reflect different elements of the Nordic landscape – the grey-blues of the stormy seas, the burnt browns of the autumn leaves, the deep greens of the forests.
The range also features lots of tactile materials, including plush velvet and corduroy, crinkled wool-linen blends, mottled clay and beautifully veined green marble. Combined together, they create a mood that’s somehow refined yet relaxed at the same time – ideal for snuggling up as the nights draw in and the weather gets colder.
My favourite pieces from the collection are the versatile floor poufs, which come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be used as anything from seating to coffee tables, and the sculptural ‘Feel’ chair and stool series, made from recycled aluminium. There’s also an ethereal-looking trio of unusual decorative objects sculpted from white selenite crystal: a tea-light holder, a tower, and a sphere designed to represent the moon. I love the way they almost seem to glow from within when they catch the light, and they make wonderful statement pieces on their own or grouped together.
I suspect we’re going to see a lot more of these warm, nature-inspired neutrals over the next few weeks as other brands release images of their new collections. They’re certainly on trend this season, but they’re also timeless so I don’t think you need to worry about them dating if you want to incorporate them into your own home. What’s more, they’re incredibly versatile and work brilliantly in all sorts of settings, from the rustic period apartment shown in Zara Home’s campaign to the clean, contemporary space featured here. If you want your decor to help soothe and slow you down, they’re certainly a good choice!

It’s beautiful isn’t it? And it works so well with the clean architectural lines.

What color is the wall and which fabric is it?

Hi Laura, I can’t tell you exactly which wall colour is shown here as it’s a gallery not my home, but Bauwerk Colour has lime-wash paints that are very similar so they could be worth a look.
