Today I have another new-season collection to share, this time from Danish brand Tine K Home, and I think it’s one you’re going to love.
Founded in 1999 by Tine Kjeldsen and her husband Jacob Fossum, Tine K Home is known for its distinctive blend of Scandinavian minimalism, traditional crafts and bohemian flair. There’s always a wonderful sense of calmness and simplicity about its collections, which over the years have been photographed in a renovated Italian farmhouse, a minimalist Mallorcan villa and Copenhagen’s Kinfolk Gallery, among other stunning locations.
The autumn-winter 2020 incarnation is no exception. Presented beneath a series of soaring architectural arches, it encompasses furniture and smaller home accessories, and mixes sleek shapes with neutral colours and rustic textures. Sustainable materials such as bamboo and rattan also feature prominently, as do fabrics made from recycled polyester.
Pieces that caught my eye include a new modular sofa series with soft, relaxed shapes and a timeless aesthetic, as well as handmade terracotta pots that were inspired by Mediterranean patios and have a beautifully imperfect whitewashed finish. There’s also a new range of clean-lined furniture called ‘Chunky’, which is made from FSC-certified pine and treated with Accoya – a natural, environmentally-friendly process that protects the wood from water, fungi and wear. It features side tables, dining tables, benches and more, all available in natural or black-stained versions, but my personal favourite is a wooden lounge chair with an understated yet elegant expression.
There are plenty of styling ideas to borrow from the press photos, too. I love the way vases and pots have been adorned with single, tall stems to produce a simple yet striking effect – something that’s very easy to replicate at home. Another trick is to lean mirrors and artwork against walls, which creates informal displays that can be rearranged in seconds without any hammering or drilling. I was also very taken with the clusters of ceramics and sculptures (among them pieces by Sarah Fredelund and Fanny Bylund), all of which have a limited colour palette but mix different textures and heights for depth and interest.
