The best scented candles for spring – updated for 2025

April 17, 2025

Neutral interior with blossom branches, minimalist sideboard styling, soft grey-green walls and abstract art | The best scented candles for spring | These Four Walls blog

With sunshine one minute and rain showers the next, spring has definitely arrived – and that means my seasonal round-up of the best scented candles! For me candles aren’t just a winter thing, and I love selecting fragrances that suit my mood and the moment. Around now I start swapping the smoky, spicy notes that I tend to favour during the colder months for lighter scents that breathe a bit of freshness into the house, and I’ve picked out 21 of the best below.

The ever-increasing array of candles on the market nowadays means narrowing down the choice can be tricky, so I’ve focused on the kind of thing that appeals to me at this time of year, with some old favourites alongside new discoveries for 2025. There are delicate florals evoking blossoms and wildflower-filled woodland, clean blends inspired by laundry billowing in the breeze, aqueous fragrances that speak of refreshing spring rainfall, and invigorating scents created to uplift and revitalise after the long, dark winter. What’s more, almost all the candles I’ve included are produced using natural wax and hand-made by small, independent businesses. I hope you find something you like!

The best spring scented candles, from delicate florals to uplifting green blends | These Four Walls blog
  1. ‘Hortosa’ candle by Verden (£55; also available as a reed diffuser) – a joyful, floral evocation of mimosas and spring sunshine
  2. ‘Pause No 3a’ candle by Ëla Life (£28 for a standard jar or £18 for a votive) – a mind-clearing blend of eucalyptus, frankincense, lemon, vetivert and petitgrain that transports you outside for a moment of fresh air
  3. ‘Wood’ candle by Homework (£38 for a standard jar or £58 for a large one) – pine, Hinoki, clary sage and cypress over base notes of cedar and oakmoss, inspired by the Traditional Chinese Medicine element for spring and intended to encourage growth, clarity and renewal
  4. ‘Aura’ candle by Sincerely Lumière (£42 for a standard jar or £18 for a travel tin; also available as wax melts) – a revitalising coastal mix of seaweed and green algae, with delicate hints of cyclamen and water lily plus grounding notes of amber, patchouli and musk
  5. ‘REGN – After The Rainfall’ candle by Skandinavisk (£19 for a small jar or £35 for a large one; refills available) – a cool, green and rejuvenating scent with aromas of wet grass, misted peony and damp earth

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway f A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway for the big project I'm working on (more on that soon), and while I was there I had a look around @askogeng's workshop. I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.

Is it just me, or are slightly droopy flowers the Is it just me, or are slightly droopy flowers the most elegant? Anyway, these are butterfly ranunculus - always a favourite. I couldn't resist the lovely soft peach ones - such a pretty colour for spring.

If you've seen my Stories, you'll know we've had a stressful Sunday and Monday thanks to a poorly cat and some big house news. At least it's only a four-day week!
