The best scented candles for summer

The best scented candles for summer | These Four Walls blog

After a bit of a delayed start, it looks as if summer is finally here in northern Europe. So, I’m continuing my seasonal guide to the best scented candles with an updated round-up for the warmer months ahead.

I’m always amazed by the power of fragrance to transform the ambiance of a space, spark distant memories or transport me to other places, and at this time of year I tend to find myself drawn towards heady scents that evoke sun-drenched days in the garden and balmy evenings under the stars. I’m also yearning for a bit of escapism in the form of fresh, coastal-inspired fragrances and scents that conjure up the Mediterranean and beyond. There are so many wonderful candles to choose from, but after a lot of deliberation I’ve narrowed my selection down to the 21 below, with some old favourites alongside new discoveries for 2024. I’ve tried and tested many of them myself, and most are produced by small, independent brands using natural ingredients. I hope you find something you like!

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway f A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway for the big project I'm working on (more on that soon), and while I was there I had a look around @askogeng's workshop. I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
