Today I have another new-season collection to share, this time from Danish brand Tine K Home, and I think it's one you're going to love. Founded in 1999 by Tine Kjeldsen and her husband Jacob Fossum, Tine K Home is known for its distinctive blend of Scandinavian minimalism, traditional crafts and bohemian flair. There's always a wonderful sense of calmness and simplicity about its collections . . .
New launches from Menu & a new look for The Audo
Of all the new collections that come out of Scandinavia each season, one I always particularly look forward to seeing is that of Menu. I'll be honest: when I first viewed the press photos of its autumn-winter 2020 launches, which were unveiled at its newly made-over Copenhagen showroom / HQ / hotel The Audo during 3 Days of Design, I wasn't sure what to make of them. But the more I've looked at . . .
Home tour | A minimalist renovation project near Manchester
Today I'm taking a look around the stunning house of designer Bec Kirby (@our_aus on Instagram), her partner Tom and their two beautiful cats, Mochi and Suciu. Located just outside Manchester in northern England, it's one of the most minimalist homes that I've featured to date, but it's proof that simplicity certainly doesn't equal boring or uninviting . . .
Design project | A restful green bedroom
I've been wanting to give you a peek at one of my finished projects ever since I launched my design services earlier this year, but the situation over the last few months made things tricky. Well, last week I was finally able to visit the home of my first-ever client, Nikki, and I'm so excited to share a few photos with you! . . .
New Works’ nature-inspired showroom makeover
Of all the events that took place at 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen last week, the one I was perhaps saddest to miss was the launch of New Works' newly redecorated showroom. The brand first moved into its period townhouse home in the Frederiksstaden neighbourhood last spring, and it was one of my favourite spaces from 3 Days of Design 2019 . . .
New finds | September 2020
The start of a new month - and in this case a new season - means it's time for my regular pick of minimalist design finds. It's a particularly Denmark-heavy selection today, as this week sees Copenhagen host its annual 3 Days of Design festival (originally due to take place in May but postponed) . . .
Home tour | A sustainable new-build in Norway
Today's home tour comes to you courtesy of Ask og Eng - a Norwegian design studio which makes beautiful kitchens and other fitted furniture using sustainably sourced materials. It was founded by environmental geographer Kine Ask Stenersen and architect Kristoffer Eng in 2016 after they struggled to find an eco-friendly kitchen solution when renovating their first apartment . . .
Minimalist makers: wall art
It's time for the second in my 'minimalist makers' series, which showcases the work of independent artisans and craftspeople across a range of different categories. Today's focus is art - and more specifically, art for the wall . . .
How to make and use mood boards
A few weeks ago I shared eight questions to ask yourself before embarking on a decorating project. The idea behind them was to help you cut through the noise and trends, gain the clarity you need to create a space that works for you and your lifestyle, and avoid costly mistakes that would take time and money to put right. But what's the next step once you've worked through them? . . .
Home tour | A serene new-build apartment in Stockholm
How do you turn a new-build property into a home? It's something many of us grapple with, and a question I often get asked. Well, the subject of my latest home-tour post is a wonderful example of how to do it . . .
