Home tour - a sleek & stylish family house in Melbourne | These Four Walls blog

For my latest home tour I’m taking you over to Australia for a peek at a century-old Melbourne house that’s been rejigged for modern living – the first project from the new CJH Studio, which was founded by interior designer and architect Cassie James-Herrick. This light and airy 1900s villa is home to a young family, so the design needed to be practical as well as stylish. The first step was to . . .

Postcards from Puglia | These Four Walls blog

Back in September Chris and I spent a lazy, sun-drenched week pootling around Puglia – a much-needed break between leaving my job and taking up blogging full-time. I've finally found a few hours to go through the hundreds of photos I took, so I want to share a few snippets from this beautiful region of silvery olive groves, whitewashed hill towns and rugged cliffs, which occupies the heel of the . . .

New designs inspired by Copenhagen’s iconic Royal Hotel

New designs inspired by Copenhagen's iconic Royal Hotel | These Four Walls blog

Rarely does a single building have as much influence on the future of design as Copenhagen’s iconic Radisson Blu Royal Hotel – a place which has fascinated me ever since I first visited the city on a school exchange at the age of 14 and saw it towering above Central Station. And it's still inspiring new creations today. Opened in 1960 and originally known as the SAS Royal Hotel, it was the work . . .

My top picks from the Stockholm Furniture Fair - part 1 | These Four Walls blog

As you might expect, I’ve come back from my trip to Stockholm buzzing with ideas and inspiration. Not only did I get to see some fantastic installations as part of the city-wide Design Week (check out my personal highlight here), I also had chance to browse the 700+ stands at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. It’s the biggest showcase of Scandinavian design in the world, and as well as seeing the . . .

The PH House by Norm Architects | These Four Walls blog

It’s home-tour time again, and today I have another gem from the ever-inspiring Norm Architects to share with you. Located in Copenhagen, this historic villa is named the ‘PH House’ in homage to renowned Danish designer, architect and critic Poul Henningsen, who once used it as his summerhouse. It was rebuilt after a 2014 fire destroyed much of the structure, and it’s now home to a family of . . .

'A Quiet Reflection' by Ariake | These Four Walls blog

Apologies for the radio silence over the past week, but I've been in Sweden for Stockholm Design Week and the Stockholm Furniture Fair. I had a wonderful time discovering lots of amazing interiors, revisiting some former haunts and catching up with blogger friends old and new, and I loved being back in one of my favourite cities for a few days. I'll share all my finds over the next week or so, but . . .

Home tour - neutral tones and natural materials in southern Sweden | These Four Walls blog

Today I’m taking you to Skåne in southern Sweden for a peek at a contemporary house that puts a warm, textural spin on Scandinavian minimalism. Set in the small seaside village of Höllviken, this new-build stone villa (first featured in Elle Decoration) was designed by architect Hanne Birk for owners Sofia and Johan Wäborg, who decided to relocate to the countryside from nearby Malmö after the . . .

I've spent many happy times there over the years as one of my closest friends lives there, but she's about to move house. So, Chris and I made the most of our last visit before she relocates - and the weather was certainly kind to us!

Some photos of the gorgeous @a.__gallery, which I Some photos of the gorgeous @a.__gallery, which I visited on a recent trip to the Netherlands. Isn't it beautiful? Calm, textural and layered, with handmade pieces by an array of independent artists and artisans.

I've also interviewed Holly, founder of the gallery and interior design studio @avenue.design.studio, on my blog. I've always admired the elegant, timeless spaces she creates, and the way she reflects the architectural context of each setting. I first met her in person last year, when I featured her own home in my book, and I've since worked with her on another exciting project that I can't wait to share soon...

I missed the opening event for this last year, so it was great to finally have a look around in person. The light is stunning, as is GUBI's selection of contemporary and classic designs - including the sculptural and futuristic F300 lounge chair, first designed by Pierre Paulin in the 1960s and recently relaunched.

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!
