It's a wonderful haven of calming neutrals, natural materials and handmade pieces - and Tiff and I were lucky enough to stay there during the photoshoot so I can testify that it's as liveable as it is beautiful! [AD - features PR products] Little snippets of our [AD - features PR products] Little snippets of our almost-finished living room. This space is so very nearly there - we're just waiting for the bioethanol stove to arrive and for the electricians to sort out some wiring so we can fit the rest of the skirting boards. This was a tricky room, as it has two windows, two doorways and acts as a bit of a thoroughfare to the kitchen. It also had no natural focal point. Some careful layout planning, a new chimney breast and a bespoke Bath-stone fireplace have made all the difference, as has our beautiful oak flooring. We've also built floating shelves in a nook that we think is the remnant of a former doorway. It's already a space I love spending time in, and it has the rustic-minimalist mix of old, new and handmade that I'm aiming for throughout our little cottage. I can't wait to show you more! We've been making the most of lighter evenings wit We've been making the most of lighter evenings with after-work strolls around the beautiful lanes and fields around our house. It's funny: I grew up in the countryside, and I couldn't wait to move to a city when I started university. [AD - paid partnership] After downsizing to our li [AD - paid partnership] After downsizing to our little cottage, Chris and I now have to share the same office space on the two or three days a week when he works from home. We have one large desk between us and often swap sides based on what we're doing – if I’m photo-editing, I don’t like facing the glare of the window, whereas Chris likes to sit away from the door when he’s on video calls so that I can come and go without getting in the way. Being able to zip around on @carlhansenandson's beautiful and lightweight CH621 swivel chair makes things that little bit easier, and the wheels run smoothly over both our hardwood floor and woven rug. It's the kind of chair that works with all sorts of decor styles, too - I love the contrast between its sleek mid-century aesthetic and the rustic timber of our desk. #homeofficeinspo #deskstyling #minimalisthomedecor #rusticminimalism #simplehomestyle
