Squeezing storage and display space into a small room is often tricky, but wall-mounted shelving units can make the perfect solution. They don't take up any extra floor space and can be positioned above desks, sofas and the like; what's more, their lightweight appearance creates the illusion of extra square meterage, and they're often much less imposing than heavy freestanding pieces . . .

How to make an asymmetrical Christmas wreath
Making wreaths is one of my favourite things to do in the run-up to Christmas. There's something very mindful about getting stuck into seasonal crafts, and surrounding yourself with winter foliage is a guaranteed way to get in the festive spirit - especially if you pour yourself some wine and play some Christmas music at the same time! I particularly love creating asymmetrical wreaths . . .
