A slow, sustainable approach to decorating your home | These Four Walls blog

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that I recently shared a Story template put together by Allan of Bungalow 5, asking people to pledge to make more eco-conscious design decisions in 2019. It's something I've been thinking about a lot recently - not only because I want to reduce my own impact on the planet, but also because I'm always advocating a more mindful approach to . . .

New-year inspiration from H&M Home | These Four Walls blog

As soon as Christmas is over and the decorations are packed away, I always find myself searching for ways to freshen up my home for the new year. These images of the latest collection from H&M Home provide plenty of inspiration and show just how easy it is to breathe new life into interiors with a few carefully chosen accessories. They were taken at beautiful Lisbon hotel Santa Clara 1728 - . . .

'Lair' - new furniture collection from An Interior Affair | These Four Walls blog

So, settle back and feast your eyes on the things that have grabbed my attention over the last few weeks... . . .

Minimalist Christmas table styling with fir, candles & pine cones

Minimalist Christmas table styling with fir, candles & pine cones | These Four Walls blog

Now that our dining-room makeover is complete, I’m looking forward to styling the table for festive feasts - especially as we’re hosting Christmas this year. (Have I mentioned that before....? As you might have guessed, I’m a little excited!). Creating a beautiful table is always something I enjoy, and it needn’t be time-consuming or expensive - in fact all you need is a bit of seasonal foliage . . .

Easy Christmas styling with paper decorations

Easy Christmas styling with paper decorations | These Four Walls blog

Today I want to share a simple but striking festive arrangement using a foraged branch and paper decorations - ideal if you need a bit of last-minute Christmas inspiration, or you don't have much spare time to spend decking the halls. It was inspired by arrangements created by fellow bloggers Elisabeth Heier and Carla Sofie Molge, and it was incredibly easy to do - I just chopped a nicely . . .

My minimalist yet warm dining-room makeover | The reveal

My minimalist yet warm dining-room makeover | These Four Walls blog

We've lived in our house for just over four years now, but it's still far from finished - not least because rather than move onto areas that we haven't yet touched, I've spent the last few months redoing rooms that we'd already decorated! First up was the living room, and now I'm excited to be able to share the results of the next makeover on the list: the dining room. This room is one of the . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
