Home tour | A stylish farmhouse rental in Wales

A stylish farmhouse rental in Wales | These Four Walls blog

This wonderfully cosy Welsh farmhouse seemed like the ideal choice for my last home tour of 2017. Available to rent for short breaks and holidays, it forms part of Fforest – a collection of teepees, bell tents, eco-domes and cabins hidden among wild meadows and ancient woodland, just a few miles from the coastal town of Cardigan. I was lucky enough to have a peek inside when I spent three nights . . .

The final festive touches

The final festive touches | These Four Walls blog

December seems to be flying by, and I can't believe Christmas is now just over a week away. Although I put most of our decorations up a while ago (blogging means doing it a lot earlier than I used to!), a few additional festive touches have crept in over the past couple of days. . . .

Simple Christmas table styling

Simple Christmas table styling | These Four Walls blog

I've always loved dressing the table for Christmas. It was my job as a child, and I'd spend much of Christmas morning in my parents' garden with a pair of scissors, decimating their holly bushes in a bid to find the prettiest sprigs. It's a task I take very seriously to this day, and even though we're not hosting Christmas this year, I still want to create a festive atmosphere for December meals . . .

Festive minimalism from Ferm Living

Festive minimalism from Ferm Living | These Four Walls blog

Each winter I look forward to seeing the different takes on festive decorations from my favourite homeware brands, and one Christmas collection that always catches my eye is Ferm Living's. The Danish company has nailed it again this year, and I couldn't resist sharing some photos to provide a bit of extra seasonal inspiration. Ferm's 2017 festive range echoes the brand's signature style, . . .

Simple but stylish Christmas gift wrapping with The White Company

Simple but stylish Christmas gift wrapping with The White Company | These Four Walls blog

[This is a paid partnership with The White Company, but all words and opinions are my own] Wrapping gifts is one of my favourite Christmas rituals. Each year I set aside a whole afternoon and evening, put on some seasonal tunes, help myself to a tipple and a mince pie, and lose myself in a mountain of paper, ribbon, twine and tags. It always helps me get into the festive mood, and I love . . .

How to make a minimalist Christmas wreath

December 5, 2017

How to make a minimalist Christmas wreath | These Four Walls blog

Nothing says Christmas like a wreath brimming with fresh, fragrant greenery, but you don’t have to opt for the traditional look. If you prefer Scandinavian-style simplicity then this minimalist version is for you. It’s quick and easy to make, and it looks beautiful hung in a window, on a door or above a fireplace; you could even cluster several together to create a striking display. And for a . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway f A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway for the big project I'm working on (more on that soon), and while I was there I had a look around @askogeng's workshop. I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
