[AD - paid partnership] A peek at our new home off [AD - paid partnership] A peek at our new home office, complete with @carlhansenandson's CH621 swivel chair, which I've been lucky enough to test out over the past couple of weeks. It was designed by Hans J. Wegner (of Wishbone chair fame) all the way back in 1948, but you'd never know it. It's the perfect balance of form, function and ergonomics, and I love the timeless aesthetic. There's a hint of industrial style about it, but it's also lightweight and elegant - and it fits beautifully into the rustic-minimalist interiors we're going for in our little cottage.

Cat versus half-built flatpack cupboard. You can a Cat versus half-built flatpack cupboard. You can almost see the battle going on inside his head. And a good job he didn't jump as we hadn't put the top on yet so he would have fallen straight through.

Not the kind of thing I normally post - and a bit wobbly because I was laughing so much - but too funny not to share.

Hellebores in vases, hellebores on the wall, and s Hellebores in vases, hellebores on the wall, and sneak little peeks at our cottage renovation so far. I can't show much more as the living room is currently full of our newly delivered kitchen, the living-room furniture is piled up in what will be the dining room, and we can't even get in the guest bedroom for boxes. But we're getting there! And I really am in love with the light in this house.

We were there for a friend's birthday celebration, and it's a beautiful place - well worth the looooong drive from the West Country. It was during that weekend that Chris and I realised just how much we enjoyed being out of the city and decided to give our longed-for move to the countryside a go. In fact we'd called the estate agent by the time we got back to Bristol, and our house was on the market within a fortnight!

I couldn't resist bringing a bit of blossom from o I couldn't resist bringing a bit of blossom from our copper beech inside to display in our home office - one of the few rooms that isn't total chaos at the moment!

Going out to the garden to be greeted by the blossom has been a lovely surprise this week. Obviously I knew our new house came with the tree, and I know trees blossom. But somehow I still hadn't expected it!
