As summer turns to autumn, I’ve put together two very different moodboards, both inspired by the natural world. First up: the colours and textures of woodland.
I love being outdoors among the trees at this time of year, surrounded by peeling bark and falling leaves. It provides plenty of inspiration for interiors, too, and my favourite rustic schemes blend the silvery greys, rich browns and weathered timber found in the woods. It’s a soothing combination, and one that’s surprisingly versatile – you can soften the edges with snuggly linens, animal skins and chunky knitted throws, or incorporate industrial touches in the form of battered leather chairs, rough concrete and worn metal lamps.
