My monthly ‘new finds’ post – a round-up of interesting launches and minimalist design finds that have caught my eye – is back! And this time around I have some gems to share. There are beautiful rugs and bed linen made from sustainable natural fibres, elegant outdoor furniture and lighting, and an exciting new chapter for one of my favourite independent makers… Just read on for details.
Refillable aromatherapy candles & oil blends from Cedar
First up is Cedar. Long one of my go-to home fragrance and candle brands, it’s just undergone a full relaunch and looks better than ever before. Founder Lizzy is a qualified aromatherapist who takes a modern, down-to-earth approach to scent creation, developing blends that shape the mood of a space and speak to the way you want to feel at any given time. Among the core range are ‘Beam’, an uplifting and energising citrus scent; the smoky and woody ‘Centre’, which is designed to ground and calm a busy mind; and ‘Rove’, a fresh green fragrance inspired by woodland walks. There’s also the Indian rose-scented ‘Kind’ and the relaxing lavender-based ‘Eve’. All are available as oils (£20) and hand-poured, natural-wax candles in refillable glass jars (£35); there’s also a refill subscription service (£19 per month) where you can choose your own scent or let Lizzy surprise you.

Nature-inspired lighting from Nuura
Another long-time favourite, Danish lighting brand Nuura, has just unveiled its latest collection, called ‘Asteea’. Designed by the company’s founder Sofie Refer, it takes its cue from the soft curves and layered structure of blossom, with delicate satin-brass stems and elegant bell-shaped shades made from recyclable acrylic. The grooved surfaces and integrated LED technology produce soft, indirect light that replicates the way flower buds diffuse the sun’s rays, underlining the botanical inspiration and enhancing the fluid, sculptural forms. The collection features a pendant lamp, a ceiling light, a wall lamp and three- and nine-shade chandeliers, all of which are available to order now. Prices start at £239 / €279.

Linen bedding from House of Grey x Rise & Fall
Next up is London-based interiors studio House of Grey, which has teamed up with bedding and clothing company Rise & Fall to create the ‘Salutogenic Sleep Collection’. Echoing House of Grey’s commitment to circular salutogenic design – design that enhances health and wellbeing – it encompasses flax-linen bedding, lumbar cushions and muslin throws that promote rest and restoration. All are available in soothing, nature-inspired colours developed by founder Louisa Grey (who I interviewed a few years ago and whose stunning home you can see here), with options including a soft, warm pink called ‘Bruised Peach’, a gentle yellow called ‘Chamomile’ and an earthy green known as ‘Seaweed’. Everything is made using Oeko-Tex 100 certified fibres, in a factory that runs on renewable energy and recycled water. Prices start at £45.

Jute rugs from Layered
New from Swedish rug brand LAYERED are two collections made of jute – a fast-growing, biodegradable and highly durable plant fibre that’s becoming an increasingly popular choice for floor coverings. The first, ‘Scallop’, puts a playful twist on the classic jute weave by pairing it with a scalloped edge, achieved by braiding and coiling the fibres into circular forms. This is then accentuated with a contrasting border in burgundy, dark green or blue. The second, ‘The Sicilian’, draws inspiration from the checkerboard ceramic floors found in grand Italian villas, with a bold geometric pattern in three colour options: ‘Natural’, ‘Clover’ green and ‘Daffodil’ yellow. Both collections are extremely versatile and would suit all sorts of spaces and decor styles; they can also be used outside. They’re available now, with multiple rug sizes to choose from, and prices start at £295 / €395 / $500.

Minimalist outdoor furniture from Vipp
Danish design stalwart Vipp has extended its collection of minimalist outdoor furniture with a new series called ‘Lagrasse’. It’s named after the location of the brand’s next bookable guesthouse, which is due to open in southern France soon, and encompasses a compact yet comfortable lounge chair, dining chair and two-seater sofa intended for smaller gardens, terraces and balconies. All feature a curved powder-coated aluminium frame wrapped in woven cord, creating an elegant and airy expression. There are also add-on cushions upholstered in a durable outdoor fabric, which are held in place by discreet velcro straps. The lightweight nature of the pieces make them easy to move around and store away; the dining chair and two-seater are also stackable. Prices range from £295 / €325 to £605 / €665.

A new marble option from Audo Copenhagen
Last but by no means least, Audo Copenhagen has released a new material option, ‘Grey Galaxy’ marble, for two of its most popular table families. Available across the Norm Architects-designed ‘Plinth’ range and Danielle Siggerud’s ‘Androgyne’ collection, the marble is characterised by its moody grey base, unique flecks and swirling veins of soft white and silvery grey. It’s said to evoke the beauty of the cosmos and provides a stunning contrast with the clean, architectural lines of the two series. On the ‘Androgyne’ dining, lounge and side tables, it can also be paired with tactile wooden bases in natural or dark-stained oak.
