My boyfriend and I had been planning to visit Dyrham Park, a 17th-century National Trust estate that sprawls across a hillside halfway between Bristol and Bath, for years. Last Sunday we awoke to crisp, clear skies and a day without plans – the perfect opportunity. . . .
Hanging planters
There’s a pesky little corner of my kitchen that’s very hard to dress – it’s too small to do much with, but it looks very stark without any decoration. I've decided to liven it up by adding a bit of greenery, and I'm keen to use some of the funky hanging planters which seem to be everywhere at the moment. Home tour | A happy house in Bradford on Avon
Sylvie Pender (whose beautiful garden I recently featured) has filled her Wiltshire home with colour, character and cheer. There’s something instantly uplifting about it; step into the flagstone-floored, stone-walled weaver’s cottage and stresses seem to melt away. While Sylvie was growing up her parents owned a series of B&Bs in Bath, all offering eclectic decoration and a warm welcome for . . .
