Home tour - a minimalist cabin in a Swedish forest | These Four Walls blog

For today's home tour we're heading deep into the Swedish wilderness, to a beautiful cabin that's just been remodelled by Copenhagen-based Norm Architects. Perched on top of a ridge and surrounded by pine trees, heathland and gentle sandy beaches, it's rustic yet refined - the kind of place that makes you unwind and breathe more deeply as soon as you step through the door . . .

12 of the best minimalist full-length storage mirrors

12 of the best minimalist full-length storage mirrors | These Four Walls blog

I'm always on the look out for clever space-saving solutions - not only do I live in a fairly compact home myself, I'm often asked by interior-design clients to help them make the most of small rooms. One tried-and-tested trick is to choose furniture and other items that incorporate hidden storage, and full-length mirrors with integrated rails, hooks and shelves can prove particularly useful . . .

Home tour | Nordic minimalism meets original features in Lisbon

Home tour - Nordic minimalism meets original features in Lisbon | These Four Walls blog

I love homes with calming, clutter-free design. And I love homes that are filled with lovingly restored period features. Occasionally, I come across a home that balances both, and my heart always starts to beat a little faster. This stunning apartment is one such example. Located in Lisbon, it belongs to Marikken Navarsete . . .

Improving home air quality with the Tag Ultrasonic humidifier from Duux

Improving home air quality with the Tag Ultrasonic humidifier from Duux | These Four Walls blog

[Advertisement – this is a paid partnership with Duux, but all words and opinions are my own] Living in a Victorian house with a ground-floor damp issue (one of the many items on the ever-growing list of things to be fixed!), I’ve always assumed that the air I breathe on a daily basis is fairly humid. But after waking up regularly with a sore throat and itchy eyes, it began to dawn on me . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

3. Country drives
4. Coming across 17th-century graffiti while house-hunting
5 & 6. A lazy Sunday stroll on Clevedon Pier, on one of those hazy days where the sea and sky seem to merge into one
7. Keeping drooping spring blooms going for as long as possible

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway f A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway for the big project I'm working on (more on that soon), and while I was there I had a look around @askogeng's workshop. I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
