The ‘Frame’ collection from Kristina Dam Studio

The 'Frame' collection from Kristina Dam Studio | These Four Walls blog

Normally the first week of February would see me heading off to Sweden for the Stockholm Furniture Fair - one of the biggest trade shows in the design calendar. That's been postponed until September due to current circumstances, but the launch of various new-season collections means there's still plenty of interiors inspiration to soak up. As usual I'll be sharing some of my favourites, and I'm . . .

A cosy Cotswolds minibreak at Wild Thyme & Honey

January 19, 2022

Rustic-minimalist bedroom at stylish Cotswolds hotel Wild Thyme & Honey - the perfect place for a cosy winter staycation | These Four Walls blog

[Advertisement - this post is based on a press stay, but all words and opinions are my own] Despite all the talk of new plans and a fresh start, I often find January quite heavy - the excitement of Christmas is over, work pressure is starting to pile up again, and there's the dreaded tax return to attend to. So, it always seems like a good time to escape to the countryside . . .

January 12, 2022

Cosy reading nook in a minimalist beige and white bedroom, with Carl Hansen & Søn' timeless RF200 table lamp and CH25 chair | These Four Walls blog

[Advertisement - this is a paid partnership with Carl Hansen & Søn] For the next instalment in my ongoing partnership with Carl Hansen & Søn, I'm focusing on the latest addition to its growing range of timeless and beautiful lighting: the RF200 table lamp. Launched just before Christmas and also known as the 'Petal', the lamp takes its inspiration from trees, with a chunky . . .

Runo - a new Finnish hotel from interior designer Joanna Laajisto | These Four Walls blog

I'm starting the week with a bit of interiors and travel inspiration courtesy of Runo - a new boutique hotel designed by Helsinki-based Joanna Laajisto. It recently opened its doors in the southern Finnish city of Porvoo, and it's a wonderful example of how historic spaces can be transformed without losing their soul or sense of place. Porvoo is known for its colourful wooden cottages and the . . .

Merry Christmas!

Minimalist living room and simple Christmas tree dressed in white, grey, silver and earthy neutrals | These Four Walls blog

After a rollercoaster year, today is my last working day of 2021. But before I put on my out of office and take a couple of weeks off, I want to share a peek at my final Christmas decorations - the tree, which I've dressed in grey, white, silver and earthy brown to match the decor of the living room, and my homemade wreath . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

5 & 6. A lazy Sunday stroll on Clevedon Pier, on one of those hazy days where the sea and sky seem to merge into one
7. Keeping drooping spring blooms going for as long as possible

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway f A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway for the big project I'm working on (more on that soon), and while I was there I had a look around @askogeng's workshop. I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
