It’s the end of another busy week, and I’m looking forward to relaxing over a lazy, wine-fuelled Friday dinner. I reckon this beautiful Scandinavian-style dining room would make the perfect setting, so it seemed like a good choice for my second ‘Room Envy’ post (you can read the first one here).
There are so many things I love about this room: the delicate silvery-grey colour on the walls, the mismatched chairs, the pale wooden floor and table. But most of all I love the simplicity. It’s such a calming, clutter-free space, with just a couple of pretty little details – a pair of brown-glass bottles, a cluster of thistle-filled vases – to catch the eye. There’s also some clever panelling to hide the radiator, and the undressed window brings in plenty of light. It’s quite a brave choice to forego curtains and blinds, but I think it works here – particularly as the low-hanging pendant light creates a focal point and stops the room from looking stark.
All it needs are a few flickering candles and voila: the ideal space for stylish autumn meals!

I love everything about this, I would love my dining room to look like this!
