Home tour | An elegant Swedish apartment in soft shades of grey

Home tour - an elegant Swedish apartment in soft shades of grey | These Four Walls blog

It's been a while since I last featured a home tour, but I couldn't resist taking a little break from Christmas-related posts to share this beautiful Swedish apartment. Located in central Stockholm, it's painted in soft shades of grey that give it an airy, elegant feel. The wall colours work beautifully with the pale parquet floor, and they're offset by striking artworks, statement lighting . . .

A cosy breakfast in bed with Sainsbury’s Home

A cosy breakfast in bed with Sainsbury’s Home | These Four Walls blog

[This is a paid partnership with Sainsbury's Home, but all words and opinions are my own] Like many people who work from home, I’m guilty of not knowing when to stop. With no set hours or daily commute to worry about, I tend to tap away at my computer long into the evening, only shutting down if I’m going out (or if my husband decides enough is enough and pulls the plug!). One thing I’m . . .

Home office styling with the IKEA x HAY ‘YPPERLIG’ range

Home office styling with the IKEA x HAY ‘YPPERLIG’ range | These Four Walls blog

[This is a paid partnership with IKEA UK, but all words and opinions are my own] I wrote a post a couple of months ago about the hotly anticipated ‘YPPERLIG’ collaboration between two Scandinavian greats, Swedish stalwart IKEA and stylish Danish brand HAY, and it’s great to see the range now hitting the shops. Conceived as a collection of beautiful and well-made everyday products that . . .

Relaxed elegance from H&M Home

Relaxed elegance from H&M Home

A bit of brand news for you today, as H&M Home has just launched a new range of premium-quality products for the bedroom. It's called 'Relaxed Elegance' and it looks beautiful, with lots of soft, calming tones and natural textures that are ideal for snuggling up on chilly autumn nights. The textiles are particularly pretty: washed-linen bedding and robes in muted greys and whites, . . .

Home tour | A bright coastal house near Copenhagen

Home tour - a bright coastal house near Copenhagen | These Four Walls blog

This stunning abode near Copenhagen seemed like the ideal choice for my first post of August. Set in the seaside town of Vedbæk, it has a simple all-white interior with a breezy, beachy feel - perfect for a month when most of us have summer holidays firmly on the mind. Once a fisherman's cottage, the house has been transformed into a family home by the talented team at Norm Architects. They . . .

Home tour | A light-filled house in London

Home tour - a light-filled house in London | These Four Walls blog

I included a couple of photos of this beautiful house in last week's post about maximising natural light, and I couldn't resist sharing a few more. Located in Fulham, southwest London, the Victorian terrace has been reworked by its photographer and software-developer owners to create a bright, minimalist family home. It has a distinct Scandinavian influence throughout, along with lots of clever . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

Back on the grid after more than two weeks. Thanks Back on the grid after more than two weeks. Thanks to everyone who sent messages checking I was OK - I just lost my Instagram mojo and needed a bit of a break. Anyway, here are some phone-camera snippets of life lately...

1. Guard cat on duty while I work
2. Evening light hitting the last of the Japanese quince blossom in the garden
3. Country drives
4. Coming across 17th-century graffiti while house-hunting
5 & 6. A lazy Sunday stroll on Clevedon Pier, on one of those hazy days where the sea and sky seem to merge into one
7. Keeping drooping spring blooms going for as long as possible
8 & 9. Wisteria at @ntbarringtoncourt in Somerset
10. Brunch at the always-wonderful @lunitapasteleria
11. Enjoying the balmy spring breeze
12. Stunning mosaic floors at Chedworth Roman Villa in Gloucestershire

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
