Minimalist beige bedroom with pale oak flooring | These Four Walls blog

[Advertisement - this post is a collaboration with Quick-Step but, as always, words and opinions are my own] One of the biggest decisions when renovating the upstairs of our house was flooring. We'd already redone most of the ground floor, but the bedrooms were still covered in the old brown carpet that was here when we bought the property in 2014 . . .

The minimalist 'Violin' chair from Gubi - elegant, timeless Nordic design at its best | New finds - May 2021 | These Four Walls blog

Somehow May has arrived without me really noticing - maybe because the weather here in the UK still seems to think it's winter! But anyway, the start of a new month means it's time for my regular round-up of design finds, and I have some beautiful launches to share with you. So, grab a cuppa, settle back and read on for details of minimalist kitchens, sustainable fabrics, stunning tableware, . . .

How to decorate & furnish large spaces

How to decorate & furnish large and open-plan spaces | These Four Walls blog

Last month I shared some advice on how to decorate and furnish small spaces, and today I'm turning my attention to large rooms. If anything, they're even trickier to deal with - especially if you have an open-plan space which has to play several different roles at once. I know having too much space sounds like a nice problem to have, but it can be a real issue . . .

Home tour - warm minimalism near Copenhagen | These Four Walls blog

For my latest home-tour post I'm taking you back to a Danish property which I've featured before and which has recently undergone a bit of a makeover. Located north of Copenhagen, it's named the PH House in honour of renowned designer and architect Poul Henningsen, who once used it as his summerhouse, and was renovated by Norm Architects following a devastating 2014 fire. They've now been back to . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
