Home tour | A new-build apartment in soft, sophisticated tones

December 15, 2020

Open-plan Scandinavian living room in earthy beige, green and russet | Home tour - a new-build apartment in soft, sophisticated tones | These Four Walls blog

In recent months I've shared a few inspiring homes that prove new-builds needn't be cold or soulless, and I have another fantastic example for you today. Set in the new Stockholm district of Haga Norra, this just-finished apartment (currently for sale via Fantastic Frank) is warm, cosy and very elegant, and it seemed like the perfect choice for my final home tour of 2020 . . .

Adding some festive sparkle with Georg Jensen’s 2020 ‘Christmas Collectibles’

Adding some festive sparkle with Georg Jensen's 2020 'Christmas Collectibles' | These Four Walls blog

[Advertisement - this is a paid partnership with Georg Jensen, but all words and opinions are my own] I generally opt for a pared-back look at Christmas, with lots of evergreen foliage and a few simple decorations. But I can never resist adding a bit of sparkle, and Georg Jensen's annual 'Christmas Collectibles' are always my go-to source of festive magic . . .

A soft, minimalist beige bedroom: mood board & plans | These Four Walls blog

Blocking up the door to our ensuite and opening a new one off the landing has not only enabled us to create a proper upstairs bathroom, it's also given us scope to transform our long-neglected master bedroom into the soothing sanctuary we've always dreamt of. We've already made a start on it and I hope to show you the results soon, but first I want to share a look at our plans . . .

Home tour | A minimalist getaway on the Swedish coast

November 11, 2020

Home tour - a minimalist getaway on the Swedish coast | These Four Walls blog

In Monday's post I talked about how much I love the Bohuslän Archipelago to the north of Gothenburg, and just as I pressed 'publish' an email dropped into my inbox with details of a stunning new house hidden along its rocky shoreline. It was just a coincidence, of course, but it only seemed fitting that it should form the focus of my latest home tour! . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway f A few weeks ago I travelled to Drammen in Norway for the big project I'm working on (more on that soon), and while I was there I had a look around @askogeng's workshop. I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
