New designs from NORR11 | These Four Walls blog

I was originally planning to include the latest launches from Danish brand NORR11 in my round-up from the Stockholm Furniture Fair, but as soon as I saw the press images I knew they had to have a post of their own! Created by stylist Pernille Vest and photographer Heidi Lerkenfeldt, they were shot at the J.F. Willumsen Museum in Frederikssund, north of Copenhagen . . .

New finds from the Stockholm Furniture Fair - sculptural minimalism from Kristina Dam | These Four Walls blog

I've already shared two of my favourite exhibitions from Stockholm Design Week - 'The Sculptor's Residence' and 'The Archive' - so today I have a round-up of interesting product launches from the Stockholm Furniture Fair, which takes place at the same time. The largest trade show in the Nordic design world, it brings together more than 700 brands . . .

The Archive - a showcase of Japanese & Scandinavian design | These Four Walls blog

I have another inspiring exhibition from Stockholm Design Week to share with you today, this time from Japanese brand Ariake. Each year it teams up with like-minded companies to take over a historic location somewhere in the city, and its previous efforts - 'A Quiet Reflection' and 'The Phoenix Palace' - were highlights of Design Weeks 2018 and 2019 . . .

'The Sculptor's Residence' by Norm Architects, Dux & Menu | These Four Walls blog

What a busy month of travel I've had. I'd barely landed back from my trip to Finnish Lapland before I was off again, this time to Stockholm for its annual Design Week. I visit every year if I can and it's always inspiring, with more than 400 exhibitions and events across the city, as well as the huge Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair taking place on its outskirts . . .

Early spring styling with Georg Jensen’s ‘Bloom Botanica’ collection

Early spring styling with Georg Jensen's 'Bloom Botanica' collection | These Four Walls blog

[Advertisement - this is a paid collaboration with Georg Jensen, but as always words and opinions are my own] I love living somewhere with distinct seasons, and I always relish watching the natural world change around me. Each time of year brings its own treats, and I try to savour them all - the golden evenings of summer, the colourful leaves of autumn, the sparkling frosts of winter . . .

The spring-summer 2020 collection from Northern | These Four Walls blog

Happy Monday everyone! I'm currently on my way to Stockholm for the city's annual Furniture Fair - always a great opportunity to soak up lots of Nordic design inspiration. It will also give me the chance to see some of the new-season collections in person, and one I'm particularly looking forward to catching is this from Northern . . .

I'm so excited to reveal what @tiffanygrantriley a I'm so excited to reveal what @tiffanygrantriley and I have been working on for the past few months: a new book!

Called Bring The Outside In, it explores how to harness the wellbeing-enhancing power of biophilic design (design that reconnects you with nature) in your own home. It's packed with clear, practical advice, plus peeks inside 12 beautiful real-life homes that demonstrate biophilic design in action in a wide range of settings, from city apartments to rural farmhouses.

I feel incredibly proud to have written one book, let alone two, and this one was extra-special for two reasons. Firstly, it's a topic that I've long been fascinated by and one that combines two of my passions, interior design and nature. And secondly, I was lucky enough to work on it with a friend. We had so much fun travelling around Europe capturing the homes featured (some very brief glimpses to whet your appetite here!) and we'll share some behind-the-scenes snippets soon.

Bring The Outside In will be published by @rylandpetersandsmall on 14th October and is available to pre-order now - just follow the link in my bio.

I've spent many happy times there over the years as one of my closest friends lives there, but she's about to move house. So, Chris and I made the most of our last visit before she relocates - and the weather was certainly kind to us!

Some photos of the gorgeous @a.__gallery, which I Some photos of the gorgeous @a.__gallery, which I visited on a recent trip to the Netherlands. Isn't it beautiful? Calm, textural and layered, with handmade pieces by an array of independent artists and artisans.

I've also interviewed Holly, founder of the gallery and interior design studio @avenue.design.studio, on my blog. I've always admired the elegant, timeless spaces she creates, and the way she reflects the architectural context of each setting. I first met her in person last year, when I featured her own home in my book, and I've since worked with her on another exciting project that I can't wait to share soon...

I missed the opening event for this last year, so it was great to finally have a look around in person. The light is stunning, as is GUBI's selection of contemporary and classic designs - including the sculptural and futuristic F300 lounge chair, first designed by Pierre Paulin in the 1960s and recently relaunched.

Which room or corner is your favourite...?
