Going out to the garden to be greeted by the blossom has been a lovely surprise this week. Obviously I knew our new house came with the tree, and I know trees blossom. The beautiful pale oak @quickstepfloors Cascada hardwood boards [PR product] have been laid in the main bedroom and office, both of which are now almost finished. The carpet has also been removed throughout the downstairs rooms so fitting the flooring can start there, our new internal doors, bronze handles, bronze plug sockets and bronze light switches have been installed throughout, and a chimney breast has been built in the living room ready for the custom-made Bath-stone fireplace that arrives on Friday. I've just realised it's a year this week since @ti I've just realised it's a year this week since @tiffanygrantriley and I were in the Netherlands, visiting the gorgeous homes of @marloeswonen and @savitahartsteen, plus a stunning project by @avenue.design.studio, for Bring The Outside In. All such beautiful spaces, and all with very cute pets who happily posed for us! I've found myself increasingly drawn to Dutch interiors in recent years, and in fact I've featured five Dutch houses across my two books. Hopefully it won't be long before I'm back in the Netherlands again to soak up more design inspiration.
