Just a quick post today to let you know about The Other Art Fair, which is taking place at The Arnolfini on Bristol’s Harbourside this weekend (5th-7th June).
The fair showcases works by 70 emerging artists before they gain gallery representation, giving visitors the chance to chat with and buy directly from them. This is the first time the event has ventured outside London, and it’s great to see it arriving in a city as creative and dynamic as Bristol.
There will also be DJ sets, a bar, talks, film screenings, children’s workshops (I wish I was young enough to take part in the model-house building session…) and even a mouse taxidermy course. What’s more, Tracey Emin and Gavin Turk have produced special limited-edition prints which will be on sale to visitors for only £50, with the proceeds going directly to Gavin Turk’s educational charity House of Fairy Tales.
It sounds well worth attending if you’re in or around Bristol this weekend – just pop over to the website for more info and to buy tickets.
