Dark autumn evenings are the perfect excuse for long, indulgent soaks in the tub, so it seemed appropriate to pick a bathroom for this month’s ‘Room Envy’ post. This beautiful black and white example sits in a restored Dutch farmhouse, and it instantly caught my eye because of its sophisticated, minimalist design. It’s a large room, but there are plenty of ideas that could be applied in a space . . .
Decadent Danish design from AYTM
As you may have guessed, I have a bit of an obsession with Scandinavian design. I love its sleek simplicity, its timeless lines and its blend of form and function, and I always get excited when I find a new Nordic brand to lust over. Profile | In The Window
Every object tells a story, and one of the things I love most about blogging is uncovering the inspiration and creative processes behind great design; in fact, it’s something I ask every maker, retailer and Instagrammer featured on these pages. Such a limited palette would make many spaces look cold, but the huge variety of textures and patterns . . .
Vintage-style lighting (& discount!) from William & Watson

So, on a recent quest for the perfect filament bulbs for our kitchen, I was delighted to stumble across . . .
New brass options for Kubus by Lassen
The Kubus by Lassen candleholder is one of my all-time favourite designs. Created by architect Mogens Lassen in 1962 and at first reserved exclusively for his family and friends, it’s a Danish classic that now pops up in Scandinavian-style interiors everywhere. The original eight-prong version is perhaps the most iconic, but there are also one-, two- and four-candle options, as well as a matching . . .
