Christmas still seems a long way away, but I can’t help getting excited about the prospect of putting up the decorations in a few weeks – particularly as some of my favourite brands have started to release their festive ranges, providing plenty of inspiration.

This one from Broste Copenhagen instantly caught my eye because of its pared-back Nordic look. There’s nothing garish or overdone; just a scattering of beautiful star and tree shapes, with an emphasis on natural wood, twigs and soft, muted colours. I especially love the combination of candlelight, powdery greys and eucalyptus (my favourite foliage due to its heady fragrance and silvery-green leaves). It’s exactly the kind of soothing, Scandinavian-influenced simplicity I want to achieve in my own home this year, and I can feel a foraging session coming on…
