It’s back to Scandinavia for my latest home tour: a beautiful apartment in the Swedish city of Gothenburg.

This bright, airy abode instantly caught my eye because of its fresh colour scheme, which pairs crisp white walls and floorboards with soft greys and subtle dashes of pink. But the space still feels cosy and warm thanks to lots of lovely textures and patterns, including chunky woollen rugs, striped cushions, relaxed linen tablecloths and knitted throws.

The apartment also features plenty of Scandinavian classics, such as the EOS feather lightshade in the master bedroom and the Hans J Wegner ‘Wishbone’ chairs around the dining table. And the office corner is brimming with wonderful designs by HAY: the ‘J110’ chair, a set of desktop boxes, the ‘Ad Manum’ hand sculpture and the ‘Time’ egg timer.

The hallway has innovative open shelving which provides plenty of storage while letting natural light flow through from the windows beyond. It also adds an element of contemporary open-plan living to the apartment without disrupting the original layout.

Other features that I love include the gallery wall in the living room, whose prints echo the colours of the wider scheme and showcase a work by Danish artist Silke Bonde, and the plant-filled balcony. And what child (or adult, for that matter!) wouldn’t adore having a tepee in their bedroom?
