Minimalist ceramics from Melo

I’m starting the week with a peek at a new collection from Sweden-based Melo, whose handcrafted, minimalist designs always catch my eye. Known as ‘Sand’, their latest project is a series of limited-edition ceramics, which joins Melo’s existing furniture range and print collaboration from this month.

Designed by photographer and Melo co-founder Sara Medina Lind, the collection encompasses 5 stoneware items: a cup, a saucer, a bowl, and large and small plates. All have clean lines, a soft sand colour and a transparent glaze, which combine to create a simple yet timeless look. They’re handmade by potter Ida Svärdström in Dalarna (a region of central Sweden that’s renowned for its crafts), in a process that takes up to two weeks to ensure the highest quality.

The collection ranges in price from £23 (250 SEK) to £41 (450 SEK), but only 50 copies of each piece have been produced, so you’ll have to act quickly if you want to snap any up for yourself…
