New collection from Melo

Happy Friday everyone! I’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Berlin, which included good food, good wine and plenty of good design – more on that to follow soon, but in the meantime I want to share three beautiful new products from Swedish furniture studio Melo.

Founded by a group of Stockholm-based friends, including designer and interior photographer Sara Medina Lind and furniture maker Olle Holman, Melo focuses on ‘handcrafted minimalism’. You might remember that I featured its first collection at the start of the year, and the second is just as appealing.

Like all Melo products, the new designs are handcrafted in the small village of Mockfjärd in the Swedish region of Dalarna, which has long been renowned for its crafts.  They include a solid ash coffee table and a decorative orb (one of those things I never knew I needed, but which really does look fantastic). There’s also a wall-mounted magazine rack, which is available in a white or natural finish and a range of sizes; it’s designed so that no screws are visible once it’s installed, and it can be used to display books and artwork as well as magazines.
