Easy ways to add marble to your home

Easy ways to add marble to your home | These Four Walls blog

Sleek white marble is one of those timeless, elegant materials that looks beautiful on everything from kitchen worktops to bathroom floors, but few people have the budget to buy big swathes of it for their home. Luckily, it's easy to introduce elements of marble through accessories, and there are lots of affordable products on the market at the moment. Some of my favourites come from Rose & . . .

A helping hand for bees

A helping hand for bees | These Four Walls blog

I have to confess that I’ve always been a little bit scared of bees and other buzzing insects (if one flies into the house, I tend to make a sharp exit!). But, after reading about the rapid decline in the bee population over recent years, I’ve decided it’s high time I got over my fear and did something to assist these vital creatures. I’ve been spurred on by family-run tea company Taylors of . . .

Recipe | Honey-baked peaches, marscapone & pistachios

Recipe | Honey-baked peaches, marscapone & pistachios | These Four Walls blog

One of the great joys of this time of year is the bounty of just-ripe summer fruit, and every morning I walk past grocery shops brimming with plump strawberries, juicy-looking plums and a rainbow of colourful berries. Peaches are perhaps my favourite, though - I have fond memories of devouring them at the end of the garden as a child, their sweet nectar dribbling down my chin, and as soon as I . . .

Here’s a round-up of my favourites so far… . . .

Home tour | A minimalist family house in Melbourne

It’s time for another home tour, and today I’m heading all the way over to Australia for a peek at this envy-inducing Melbourne pad. Set in the North Fitzroy district, it’s an excellent example of how small city spaces can be maximised to suit modern living. It was designed by architectural duo Pipkorn & Kilpatrick, who managed to reconfigure a one-bedroom terrace (once a stable block) into . . .

A week on my feet

A week on my feet | These Four Walls blog

This is a paid partnership with Luxury Flooring, but all words and opinions are my own I get quite a few emails from brands asking me to take part in various projects and I don't say yes to very many, but every now and then something really interesting pops into my inbox. One such invitation recently arrived from Luxury Flooring, which sells a huge range of affordable floor materials. . . .

Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist Eight years ago today. Carousel posts didn't exist then so I'm using our anniversary as an excuse to share some of my favourite wedding photos.

I have so many happy memories from the day, but what I remember the most is all the laughter. And the funniest best men's (Chris had four!) speech I've ever heard. I wish we'd had a videographer just to capture that.

Anyway, thanks @small_round_things for the last eight years - and for the 13 before we actually got around to tying the knot!

I now have this design in three different colourways around the house, and this is definitely my favourite to date!

I've been a fan of their sustainable bamboo kitchens and furniture for a long time, so this was a real treat. And the space itself is full of the time-worn textures and beautiful details that always catch my eye.
